Do you suffer from needless pain?
Many people will suffer from pain during their day to day business, most people would just ignore this pain thinking there’s nothing that can be done about it. Well functional Foot Orthotics (F.F.O) are specialist orthotic insoles that can correct your posture and reduce the pain that these people endure.
Your foot is a complex, dynamic structure capable of absorbing and releasing energy to make walking and running as efficient as possible. When a failure in the foot occurs it can have wide spread effects. This is because no joint works in isolation but creates altered biomechanical forces in near and far joints. In other words a small foot problem can cause ankle, knee, hip or even back pain.

Functional & Sports Orthotics
Functional Foot Orthotics
Some problems can be solved by using Functional Foot Orthoses, such as foot pain, back pain, plantar fasciitis, shin splints and leg pain. The device used to help these problems, when correctly prescribed, can maximise the function of the foot, providing pain relief, comfort and improving levels of activity.
Sports Orthotics
Sports activities create specific issues. Whether it will be field sports, track sports or leisure activities, good foot dynamics are essential, and where foot function is poor in the active individual, it can lead to injury and early fatigue. For the foot to work as effectively as possible it has long been recognised that functional foot devices can play an essential role in maximising the biomechanical efficiency of the foot, thereby improving sporting performance.
Our Senior Orthotist works along side fellow professionals where appropriate, i.e. Orthopaedic Consultants, Doctors Physiotherapists and Chiropodists/Podiatrists, to help ensure the most effective outcome of treatment.

How long do custom orthotics last?
With proper care, most custom orthotics last 2–5 years, depending on usage and activity level. Regular check-ups are recommended to ensure they continue to provide the right support as your posture or activity changes.
How are orthotics made and fitted?
During a consultation, your feet are assessed using measurements, scans, or impressions. The orthotics are then crafted to match your foot structure and specific needs. Once fitted, your therapist will ensure they are comfortable and provide guidance on gradually breaking them in.
What are custom foot orthotics and how do they work?
Custom foot orthotics are specially designed insoles made to fit the unique shape of your feet. They help correct alignment, reduce pain, improve posture, and support natural movement, providing relief from conditions like plantar fasciitis, flat feet, or knee and back pain.
