Targeted Sports Massage for Injury & Performance
Recover Faster, Improve Performance, and Prevent Injury
Sports massage is a specialized form of massage therapy designed to treat the specific needs of athletes or individuals with active lifestyles. Whether you’re recovering from a recent injury, preparing for a big race, or simply looking to prevent future injuries, sports massage helps by focusing on muscles, tendons, and ligaments, where the body undergoes the most stress during physical activity.
Our experienced therapists use techniques that range from deep tissue work to specific trigger point therapy to relieve muscle tension, break down scar tissue, and improve flexibility. This helps you return to peak performance faster and with less risk of injury.
Benefits of Sports Massage
- Injury Prevention: Regular massage helps reduce the risk of muscle strains, sprains, and other sports-related injuries.
- Faster Recovery: Targeted techniques enhance blood circulation, speeding up the body’s natural healing process.
- Increased Flexibility: Sports massage improves the elasticity of muscles, which leads to greater range of motion and flexibility.
- Pain Relief: Sports massage can relieve pain associated with overuse, tightness, and muscle imbalances.
- Improved Circulation: Helps stimulate blood flow, improving oxygen and nutrient delivery to muscles, which accelerates recovery.

How long before i can exercise after a sports massage?
Sometimes, most commonly in customers who have not had treatment on a regular basis, you may experience tenderness in the muscles for up to 3 days. During the treatment, I am manually breaking down the tight spots in the muscle, and as a result of this, you may experience soreness. This will settle in time. Keep hydrated and treat your massage as a hard training session, therefore having a few easy days to recover before any further intense sessions. Gentle exercise is advised after 24 hours, unless you are still experiencing tenderness.
What is that knot in my muscle?
A ‘knot’, known to sports therapists as ‘trigger points’, are the areas of a muscle that become hyper-irritable, especially upon compression, some of which can refer pain elsewhere. These trigger points can build up through over use, impact, repetitive movements, or trauma to the area.
